A1.3 Consolidating and finalizing the national strategies for the gender integrative approach in the focus countries.

Activities

  1. Map local technology needs of women in CCCIs in Nigeria on a local level.
  2. Map policies where opportunities for gender-responsive approaches can be integrated to ensure gender-sensitive policies in CCCIs.

Outcomes

  1. Increased understanding of the barrier through identifying social, economic, cultural, and technological challenges hindering women's participation in the CCCI.
  2. Enhance gender-responsive technology solutions by identifying local technology that caters to women's realities in CCCI.
  3. Improved alignment of CCCI with the specific needs and preferences of women.
  4. Evidence-based insight to inform policies and programs that enhance women's participation and involvement in the     CCCI.

Outputs

  1. Report on barriers affecting women's participation in the CCCI and recommendations to overcome these challenges.
  2. Report on specific technology needs for women and recommendations for gender-responsive technology adoption.


A 1.7 Provide gender-specific capacity building, sensitisation and mentoring for support organisations and their
communities within focus countries. This includes various strategies for community engagement, movement building and knowledge and learning integrative approaches such as: solidarity circles, training of trainers, referral systems and in person exchanges.

Activities

  1. Conduct needs assessment to identify tech training needs of women in CCCIs.
  2. Conduct women's circles on a national level to discuss gender integration in CCCIs.
  3. Support the conceptualization and implementation of training models for women in CCCIs to facilitate and support digital education sessions for women in CCCIs

Outcomes

  1. Conduct two women circles on a national level to discuss gender integration in CCCIs on a national level.
  2. Increased understanding of tech training needs for women.
  3. Enhanced awareness and dialogue on gender integration in CCCI with relevant organizations.
  4. Improved capacity and skills of women by tailoring training modules.

Outputs

  1. One report detailing the tech training requirement of women CCCI in Nigeria.
  2. Two national women's circles, with documented discussion and recommendations on gender integration in CCCI are developed and implemented training modules specifically designed for women.

 

A 1.9 Gain a deeper understanding of identified priority thematics through the establishment of three distinct communities of practice which will promote the exchange between focus countries in regions.

Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa
 
CoP on e-commerce and economic empowerment through ICT (with SMMEs and cooperatives as models)
 

A 2.8 Support the visibility and engagement of women in CCCs by securing the necessary resources for women to advance their engagement in CCCIs and other relevant ICT spaces for the advancement of gender responsive strategies.

Activities

  1. Promote ongoing support and mentorship of women in technologies related to entrepreneurship and businesses CCCIs.

Outcomes

  1. Establishment of mentorship programs that connect experienced women in tech and aspiring female entrepreneurs and women in CCCI.
  2. Collaborate with policymakers to advocate for gender-responsive policy.
  3. Documented case studies and success stories of women who benefited from the mentorship program.
  4. Development of a training module on digital skills.


 Outputs

  1. Increased participation and leadership of women in CCC.
  2. Enhanced digital literacy and business sustainability for women-led enterprises.
  3. Greater policy influence that leads to gender-inclusive policies.
  4. A more diverse and inclusive digital ecosystem where women play a significant role


A 3.5 Highlight the work of women in CCCIs in the focus countries as well as the work of the gender coordinators.

Highlight success stories from community networks in Nigeria.

 

A 4.3 Provide gender sensitization and internal learning and capacity building on relevant issues related to gender engagement within the LocNet team.
 

Conduct a gender sensitization session for LocNet team about gender in Nigeria.
