Gender Plan 2025

Building on the work done from the period 2019-2024, the gender engagement strategy at LocNet relies on the interaction of primarily 1) supporting the women and all other individuals or entities leading the engagement in support organizations, 2) supporting women and girls in the local communities to meet their digital rights needs, and 3) to continue working on integrating gender at a policy advocacy level.

In these past years we have noticed that women in support organizations act like a bridge between their communities and the advocacy policy spaces. They are also the ones who can influence how a CCCI can be designed to meet the needs of the local communities.


The various focus countries where LocNet operates will vary in the manner with which they decide to approach these three levels and to which aspect they attribute more weight. That is due to the fact that LocNet's gender engagement relies on the contextual realities, the readiness of a community and the stages of development of the CCCI.
